"Raymond Albers
Raymond Albers, 73, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 1994, at Mercy Medical Center East Campus in Mason City, Iowa.
Raymond was born November 10, 1920, in Woden, Iowa. He attended school in Woden. On February 11, 1942, he was united in marriage with Viola Johnson at Ledyard, Iowa. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942 and served with the 82nd Airborne division and was a participant in the D-Day invasion. Following his discharge in 1945, he operated a feed mill in the Woden area. He was employed at Winnebago Industries in Forest City, Iowa. He then worked for the city of Crystal Lake for the past six years. He was a member of St. John's Brotherhood, American Legion, and he enjoyed landscaping and flowers.
He is survived by his wife, Viola; two sons: Terry Albers and his wife, Kathy, Crystal Lake, Iowa; Randy Albers, St. Peter, Missouri; one daughter: Linda Smith and her husband, Dennis, Woden, Iowa; three brothers: Bill, Ted, and Ernie; two sisters: Mable and Margreta; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers."
