'Long Illness Fatal to Abbie Knock

A resident of the Lennox community for over half a century, Mrs. Abbie Knock passed away Friday night, November 4, at the home of her daughter, rural Lennox, following a lingering illness. She attained the age of 83 years and 28 days.

Services were held Monday afternoon at the Dindot & Son funeral Home, with the Rev. Raymond Denekas and the Rev. Kenneth Westrate officiating. Vocal soloist was Mrs. Tom Sanderson and accompanist was Mrs. Leland DeVries. Pallbearers weregrandsons of deceased_Paul Knock; Lorin DeVries, Wallace Knock, Harold Timmerman and Wendell Timmerman. Burial was in the Lennox cemetery.

Mrs. Knock, nee Abbie Schneiderman, was born on a farm south of Lennox on October 6, 1900, the daughter of Henry E. and Hattie Schneiderman. She attended rural school and grew to womanhood in the Lennox ares.

On February 22, 1922 she was united in marriage to Tabbo T. Knock at Lennox. Following their marriage, they located on a farm in the Lennox area and later moved onto a farm east of town. In 1953 they moved onto a farm in the Willow Lakearea where they farmed for a number of years, later taking up their residence in town. In June of 1981, they returned to the Lennox community to live with their daughter, Marles DeVries, two miles east of town. Her husband preceded herin death on May 11, 1983.

She was an active and faithful member of the Presbyterian-Reformed Church United at Willow Lake, where she was an honorary member of the Ladies' Aid.

Deceased is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Marles DeVries of rural Lennox, Mrs. Alvin (Ardell) Timmerman of Lennox and Mrs. Harold (Evelyn Whirledge of rural Bryant; one son, Arthur Knock of rural Bryant; 22 grandchildren; threesisters, Mrs. Remda Elcock and Mrs. Jennie Cavin, both of Lennox, and Hattie Nuttbrock of Willow Lake; one brother, John Schneiderman, Lennox.'
