Ardelle Timmerman, 85, died Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center while under hospice care.. Ardelle Knock was born June 19, 1926 on a farm five miles south of Lennox, SD, the daughter of Tebbo T. and Abbie (Schneiderman) Knock.

She attended rural and public schools and graduated from Lennox High School in 1944. On December 14, 1944 she was united in marriage to Alvin Timmerman at Second Reformed Church in Lennox. Following their marriage they farmed north of Davis and moved into Lennox in December of 1978. Ardelle was employed as a cook, first at Oscar Skie's Truck Stop and Cafe, then at Crippled Children's Hospital and School for 11 years, then at Hilda's Heritage and Lennox Good Samaritan Center.

Her husband died on May 22, 2004, ending a marriage of nearly 60 years. She had been a resident of Hilda's Heritage since 2008. Ardelle was a life-long member of Second Reformed Church, where she was a member of the RCW. She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She and Alvin sang duets at many different occasions throughout the area.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her father on May 11, 1983; her mother on November 4, 1983; one sister, Marlys DeVries on May 10, 1992; her twin brother, Arthur Knock on March 5, 1997 and one great-granddaughter: Brittany Timmerman on October 22, 1993.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons and their wives: Harold and Corleen Timmerman of Lennox and Wendell and Cindy Timmerman of Hurley; five grandchildren: Jeff (Denise), Steven (Melanie), Scott (Dawn), Robert and Jessica Timmerman; 12 great-grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Michaela, Isaac, Samuel, Grace, Rachel, Luke, Sarah, Nathan, Amanda and Riley; one sister: Evelyn Whirledge of Bryant, SD and a sister-in-law: Inez Knock of Willow Lake; plus several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Second Reformed Church, Lennox. Burial will be in Davis Bethel Cemetery, Davis, SD.
