"Theodor and Remda Wiebers Family

Theodor Wiebers was born in 1877 in Germany and came to the United States with his parents with his parents at the age of three. He arrived in Lincoln County in 1893. He and his five brothers did a considerable amount of threshing andcorn shelling, first with horse power and later with steam engine.

On May 8, 1907, he married Remda Groen, daughter of Jan and Remda Groen.

Remda was born in German in 1881. At a young age she came to America and settled in Illinois. A few years later she came to Lincoln County.

After their marriage they lived two and one-half years at Flasher, N.D. In 1910 they set up farming south of Lennox and in 1915 they purchased their farm (southwest quarter of Section 10) from the original homesteader, S. R. Kellar.

He was constable of Delaware Township for many years. He served as umpire for many of the community ball games. They were members of the Delaware Reformed Church.

The children born to Theodor and Remda were: Peter (1910-1979), Doris (1915-1934), and John, who now resides in Lennox.

They continued to make their home there until Theodor passed away Jan. 9, 1953, and Remda moved to Lennox and passed away on April 16, 1978. Both are buried in the Lennox Cemetery."
