"Armena Milda Haas, daughter of Hugo and Mina (Kuper) Sleper, was born on January 8, 1917 in Kossuth County, Iowa.

On December 19, 1938 she was united in marriage to Elmer Haas in Fairmont, Minnesota. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lakota for over 47 years. There she served as deacon, Sunday School and Bible School teacher and was a member of the Martha Circle.

Armena passed away on Thursday morning, June 6, 1996 at United Hospital, Blue Earth, Minnesota at the age of 79 years.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 57 years, Elmer of Lakota; two sons: Eldon and his wife, Nancy, of Elmore, Minnesota and Arden of Lakota; three granddaughters, two grandsons, three great-grandsons; one sister, Gertie Meyer and her husband, Carl, of Lakota and by one brother, Ray Sleper and his wife, Dorothy of California, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, three sisters and one brother.
