Elmer Haas, son of Charles and Jessie (Sanders) Haas, grew up in the Elmore, Minnesota and Ledyard, Iowa areas. He attended rural schools there. Armena Sleper, daughter of Hugo and Mina (Kuper) Sleper, grew up in the Lakota area and attended rural schools.

Elmer and Armena were married on December 19, 1938, and moved to Blue Earth, Minnesota where they farmed for 12 years. Then they purchased a farm east of Lakota which had been the Jim Warburton farm in 1948, and moved there in 1949.They farmed until 1987 and are now retired and live in Lakota.

They are the parents of three sons: Eldon, a farmer near Elmore, Minnesota; Arden, a trucker, living in the Moorland, Iowa area; and Danny, deceased in 1976. They have three granddaughters, one grandson, and two great-grandsons.

they are members of the Presbyterian Church in Lakota."

Sharon called & asked to speak to Betty. Betty was out so Sharon spoke to David A. Navorska. She said Elmer Haas had died that day. Elmer had stomach cancer & 2 spots on his liver. Also, he recently had a bout with shingles.

The funeral arrangements are to be handled by Winter Funeral home. The service is scheduled for Thursday, the 25th. Armena is buried in Rose Hill in Lincoln Twp. just outside Lakota.

LAKOTA - Elmer LeRoy Haas, 87, of Lakota, died Monday, August 22, 2005, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, August. 25, at First Presbyterian Church in Lakota with Rev. donna Steven officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery, Lakota.

Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church today.

Winter Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Buffalo Center is in charge of arrangements."
