"Annie Winter, 99, of Buffalo Center, died Thursday, April 29, 1993 at Timely Mission Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held Monday morning, May 3 at 10:30 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center with Rev. William Peake officiating. Interment was in Olena Mound Cemetery with Winter Funeral Home of Buffalo Center in charge ofarrangements.

Marlene Krull was the organist and accompanied a ladies trio consisting of Diana Kramersmeier, Julie Beenken and Marilyn Balvance. There was also congregational singing. Casketbearers were Bernard Winter, Cecil Winter, Arvil Winter,Randy Winter, Albert 'Bo' Sleper and Albert Boekelman.

Annie Winter, daughter of Albert Sleper, Sr. and Gepke Freerks, was born near Buffalo Center on October 6, 1893. She grew up in the vicinity attending country school. In 1910 Annie moved to Buffalo Center with her family. She wasemployed in various kinds of work.

September 12, 1912 she was united in marriage to Epko Winter. Together they lived and farmed on several farms near Titonka and later in the Buffalo Center area. Annie and Epko were the parents of three children, Gladys, Herbert andClifford. In 1957 they built a new home on south Main Street in Buffalo Center where she remained until health complications set in and she became a resident of Timely Mission Nursing Home in 1977.

Annie was a faithful member of the First Reformed Church of Buffalo Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Gladys Coffin of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two daughters-in-law, Marian Winter of Adrian, Minnesota and Donna Winter of Mason city; one brother, Albert Sleper, Jr. and wife, Ruby of Buffalo Center; sevengrandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and seventeen great-great-grandchildren, also by several nieces and nephews.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Epko on November 18, 1972; two sons, Herbert and Clifford; five brothers, John, Hugo, Henry, Dick and Everett and three sisters, Dena, Gertrude and Henrietta."
