"Dear Mr. Navorska,

thank you very much for your e-mail.

I compile materials for the big Groen Family. My mothers maiden name was Groen.

A few words to my person: My name is Martin Wenninga, I am 63 years old and live in Ostfriesland (Germany), wherenearly allof my ancestors where born.

The grave stone inscription reads as follows:

It is known in Ostfriesland as well.

In english:

To early struck the bitter hour That takes you out of our middle. But soothing sounds from our mouth, what God did, that is well done. This word satisfied our uneasy entreaty oh, rest in peace, good bye.

I tried this translation nonethelessmy little knowledge in the english language.

Martin Wenninga"
