Olvert "Alvin" Rippentrop, 80, of Titonka, died Tuesday, January 31, 1995 at the Titonka Care Center.

Funeral services were held at Good Hope Lutheran Church, Titonka, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 4 with Rev. Merlin Norris officiating. Music was provided by soloist Judy Junkermeier, organist Joyce Bode, and congregational singing.

Casketbearers were Layle Fischer, Kevin Fischer, Brenda Rippentrop, Christopher Booth, Matthew Booth, Jonathan Rippentrop, and Steven Rippentrop. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Lakota. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home,Titonka, was in charge of arrangements.

Olvert 'Alvin' Rippentrop was born July 17, 1914, rural Woden, to Olvert and Minnie (Sleper) Rippentrop. Alvin was schooled in rural Titonka. He was united in marriage to Adah Telkamp on March 4, 1936 at the Presbyterian parsonage,Lakota. They lived for eleven years in the Woden and Forest City areas and for twenty-seven years in rural Titonka, engaged in farming. In 1981 they moved into Titonka.

Alvin enjoyed farming, gardening and watching television. He was a member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church, Titonka. Alvin entered the Titonka Care Center December 8, 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Adah, of Titonka; two sons: Donald and his wife Norieta Rippentrop, Albert Lea, Minnesota; Edward 'James' and wife, Vivian Rippentrop, Pella; one daughter, Sharon and her husband, Russell Booth, Creston; sevengrandchildren; sisters: Annie and her husband, George Ennen, Lakota; Gretchen and husband, Ronald Heetland, Lakota; sisters-in-law Marjorie Weidner, Booneville, and Ida Bakken of Algona.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Joe, Everett and Marcus Rippentrop."
