'Anna Sleper was married to Cort J. Rippentrop at Titonka, Iowa on March 23, 1905. They started their married life farming in the Titonka area. In 1909 they moved to a farm southeast of Lakota and spent the rest of thier lives there.Mrs. Ripentrop died in 1948 and Mr. Rippentrop in 1953.'

'Mr. Rippentrop was a deacon in the First Presbyterian Church for many years, and Mrs. Rippentrop was active in the ladies organization. They had their first car in 1912-a Model T Ford. Mr. Rippentrop also built his own grain elevatorin 1918. He did a lot of corn shelling in this area, using horse power to run the sheller. He also ran a threshing machine for many years, and shod many of the neighbors' horses.'
