Mrs. Etta Sleper, 82, died Wednesday morning, March 31, at the Titonka Care Center where she had been a resident just the previous week.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sleper were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Ramsey Reformed Church with the Rev. John Janssen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Winter Funeral Home of Buffalo Center in charge ofarrangements.

Casket bearers were grandsons of Mrs. Sleper.

Born at Titonka on Oct. 10, 1893, Etta Rippentrop was a daughter of John K. and Mary Willemson Rippentrop. She was married to John E. Sleper Nov. 3, 1910 and lived her entire life in Titonka. Mr. Sleper died July 30, 1971.

She is survived by five daughters and two sons; Mrs. Louis (Anna) Boomgarden, German Valley, Ill., Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Stecker of Titonka, Evert and John R. Sleper both of Titonka, Mrs. L.C. (Edna) Balvance and Mrs. Walter (Greta) Aukesof Buffalo Center and Mrs. Mark (Mildred) Miller of Britt. There are 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Three sisters also survive; Maggie Boekelman, Johanna Ubben and Gertrude Rike, all of Titonka.

Senus Isebrand of Titonka and Mrs. Johanna Ites of Buffalo Center, step-brother and step-sister, also survive.

Mrs. Sleper was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and two sisters."
