Funeral services for Johanna Ubben, 83, were held Tuesday, November 27 at 1:30 p.m. at the Ramsey Reformed Church near Titonka with Rev. John E. Janssen officiating. Interment was in Ramsey Cemetery and Winter Funeral Service was incharge of arrangements. Mrs. Ubben died Saturday, November 24 at Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

Pallbearers were Michael Ubben, Verlyn Ubben, Warner K. Smidt, Mark Murra, Donavon Giesking and Philip Ubben. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Ubben, Roger Smidt, Sherman Ubben, Robert Ubben and Gary Murra. Mrs. Richard Beenken wasorganist and singers were Faye Asche, Marlyn Franzen, Donald Tapper and Alvin Hopkes.

Mrs. Johanna Ubben was born December 11, 1895 north of Titonka. She was the daughter of John K. Rippentrop and Mareka Willemssen. She was baptized in Ramsey Reformed church and was a life-long member of the church.

She spent her girlhood years on the farm north of titonka. She received her education in the country school at German Valley.

On march 9, 1920 she married to Peter Ubben. they farmed north of titonka until retiring to Titonka in 1956. She was active in women's work in the church.

She is survived by her children Ubbe of Titonka, John of Buffalo Center, Mrs. Warner (Grace) Smidt of Titonka, Mrs. Willis (Marie) Murra of Buffalo Center, Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Giesking of Titonka and Herman of Titonka; 29 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maggie Boekelman and Mrs. Gertie Rike, both of Titonka; one stepbrother, one stepsister, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; one son, Evert, her parents,three sisters and three brothers." <>
