'Jo Hanson, 92

Jo Hanson, 92, of Buffalo Center died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center. funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 3 at the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center with PastorDavid Langer officiating. Music was provided by Jan Missman, organist and Judy Junkemeier, soloist, along with congregational singing. Casketbearers were Adam Hearn, Gary Peterson, Warren Wubben, Alan Hearn, Zack Hanson and Alan Carson.Bural was at Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center. The Winter Funeral Home of Buffalo Center was in charge of arrangements.

Jo Hanson, daughter of Lambert and Maggie (Albers) Boekelman, was born August 10, 1913 in Buffalo Center. She graduated from Buffalo Center High School. On May 27, 1933, Jo was united in marriage to Thomas Hanson in Iowa Falls. Thisunion was blessed with three children, Carolyn, JoAnn, and Lyle.

Jo lived her life by the saying 'Do unto others as you would have others do unto you'. She was very close with her family including her brother, Buck. She even taught Buck how to tie his shoes. Jo worked at several local businessesincluding the Buffalo Center Tribune and Winnebago Industries in Forest City for over ten years.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carolyn Heddinger and her husband, Jack, of Davenport; daughter JAnn Hearn and husband, Mike, of Elmore, MN; her son Lyle Hanson and wife, Pat, of Eden Prairie, MN; five grandchildren Adam,April and Alan Hearn; and Chris and Zak Hanson; brother, V.H. Boekelman, and wife Julia, of Fort Dodge; and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas in 1991; her parents; a brother Hio Boekelman; and a sisterViola Jeppsen.' <>
