"Thomas L. Hanson, 80

Funeral services for Thomas Leslie Hanson, 80, of Buffalo Center were held Friday afternoon, January 18, 1991 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center with Rev. Clarence Schultz officiating. Mr. Hanson diedWednesday, January 16, 1991 at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines.

Winter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and a spring burial will be held in Olena Mound Cemetery.

Jan Missman was the organist and the congregation sang. Casketbearers were Ray Bierie, Ray Honken, Ray Finer, Harold Eisenhauer, Roger Ankeny and Gary Peterson. Honorary bearers were Jim Gibson and Justice Sullivan.

Thomas Leslie Hanson was born September 8,1910 at Buffalo Center, Iowa to Chris and Anna (Hanson) Hanson. Tom was a life-long resident of Buffalo Center, graduated from Buffalo Center High"

"School and worked as a contractor in the area. He had been retired for the past eighteen years.

He served his country in the Navy during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 21.

On May 27, 1933 he was united in marriage to Josephine "Jo" Boekelman in Iowa Falls, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Jo, of Buffalo Center; two daughters, Carolyn and husband, Jack Heddinger of Davenport; JoAnn and her husband, Mike Hearn of Elmore, Minnesota; one son, Lyle and wife, Pat Hanson of Eden Prairie, Minnesota;five grandchildren, Adam, April and Alan Hearn and Christine and Zachary Hanson; two brothers, Walt Hanson of Buffalo Center and Elmer Hanson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sophia and Helen, and five brothers, Jack, Henry, Harry, Einer and Bill."
