"Bertha Smith, 93

Funeral services for Bertha Smith, 93, of Buffalo Center were held Saturday afternoon, October 31, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center with Rev. Steve Oeffling officiating. Interment was in GracelandCemetery with Winter Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Casketbearers were Reinert Levik, Ralph Honken, R, E. Aukes, George Risius, Ray Balvance and Russell Roth. Mrs. Roger Missman was the organist and singers were Mr, and Mrs. Walter Aukes.

Bertha Albers Smith was born August 22, 1888 to Theodore and Jessie (Van Hovelen) Albers in Kossuth County, Iowa. She was baptized in the Christian faith on April 7, 1890.

She was married to George Smith on November 22, 1906 and spent her entire life in the Buffalo Center area. She was a faithful member of the Congregational Church. She had been a resident of Timely Mission Nursing Home for two years.

She passed away at North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City on October 28, 1981 at the age of 93 years, 2 months, 6 days. She leaves to mourn her passing one son, Raymond, St. Peter, Minnesota; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;one sister, Maggie Boekelman, Timely Mission Nursing Home, and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; one son, Theodore; one daughter, Margaret; a grandson and one great-grandson." <>
