Funeral services for Mrs. John Lamping, who died in her sleep early Saturday morning, May 1,1954 were held Friday, May 7 at the Winter Funeral Hoime in Buffalo Center followed with services in the First Reformed chuch with the pastor,Rev. Henry F. Senne in charge.

Interment was in Olena Mound cemetery at Buffalo Center with the following serving as pallbearers Harold Wentworth, Irvin Spieker, Donald Berhow, Eugene Berhow, Richard Olson and Glen Lamping. Mrs John Lamping was born on May 4, 1880, atCleves, near Ackley, Iowa. She departed this world early last Saturday morning, May 1, 1954, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 27 days.

The deceased was in failing health since last November, but her death came rather unexpectedly, so that we are reminded again of the Word of David, written in I Samuel 20:3, "There is but a step between me and death." Her sudden demiseis deeply felt and mourned by her husband and children: Ted, of Buffalo Center; Fred, of Emmons, Minnesota; William, of Clear Lake; Bud, of Lake Mills; Mrs, Floyd (Jessie) Berhow, of Kenyon, Minnesota; Mrs. Roy (Annie) Berhow, of BuffaloCenter; Mrs. Lewis (Jeanette) Olson, of Des Moines, and Mrs. Ray (Dena) Wentworth of Ledyard; Besides these children there are 48 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren, five sisters and two brothers.

Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mrs. B.H. Behrens of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Clifford Behrens of Williams, Mrs. Leo Evans of Alden, Mrs. Edwin Hartina of Hampton Mr. and Mrs. Harm Bomgarden, Mr. and Mrs. FredSchultz, Mr and Mr. Roy Kahler, Mr. and Mrs. Marwood Allen and son Don Cash all of Rockford, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kahler and son, Mr. and Mrs. George Kahler, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Leath, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Leath and Mr. and Mrs.Harry Cline all from Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hamlin and daughter Christine of Jacksonville, Florida."
