The marriage register provides John's birth state = Ia.

I notice a Mary Lamping is on the register a few lines up. Her residence is given as Dows, IA which sits smack dab on the Franklin/Wright county line. He county of birth is given, but my photostatic copy is poor. It looks to me to beHamilt. Co Ia

It is therefor my guess that John Lamping was born in Hamilton Co., IA

John's wives: 1) Alberdena Sleper
