Elizabeth Roth, daughter of Anna and Frank Roth, and Theodore Albers, Jr., son of Theodore and Geska Albers, were married on June 4, 1925. They moved a house from a farm near Buffalo Center to 213 South Main Street where it still standsand remains in Elizabeth's possession.
They became parents of eight children: Edwin of Buffalo Center; Dorothy of Punta Gorda, Florida; Merrill of Buffalo Center; Arlene of Ankeny, Iowa; Gerald of Janesville, Wisconsin; Gladys of Clear Lake, Iowa; Donald of Broomfield,Colorado; and Dennis of Albia, Iowa. All of them graduated from Buffalo Center high school.

Arlene Mae Field passed away peacefully on November 10, 2016. A funeral service was held Thursday, Nov. 17 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Des Moines. Burial took place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
Arlene was born on June 7, 1932 in Buffalo Center to Elizabeth and Theodore Albers Jr. She married Roger Field on August 23, 1950 in Buffalo Center. They lived in Forest City, where they started their family before moving to Ankeny in 1961. A travel enthusiast, she owned a travel agency, Iowa Travel, with her husband before their retirement.
Arlene was a dedicated member of the Marsteinen Lodge of The Sons of Norway, holding numerous terms as an officer of the local lodge as well as the Treasurer of District 1. She was an active Member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Des Moines, where she sang in the choir for 25 years and enjoyed participating in Bible study. She also was a member and officer to the Iowa Lutheran Hospital Auxiliary. She spent much of her time volunteering across many local organizations, including her local chapter of the AARP.
When not involved in her many causes, she loved to do hardanger Norwegian embroidery, for which she was quite accomplished and even taught others the craft. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and collecting recipes; her most famous of which is her chocolate chip cookies.
She is preceded in death by: her husband of 58 years, Roger Field; her parents, Elizabeth and Theodore Albers Jr; as well as her sister Dorothy Kessler; and brothers Edwin Albers and Merle Albers.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia (David) LeMieux of Gurnee, IL, Gregory Field of Superior, WI; her granddaughter Rebecca Field of Somerville, MA; as well as her sister Gladys Sheldon; brothers Gerald (Sally) Albers, Donald (Marilyn) Albers, and Dennis (Joanna) Albers; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews."
