"D. W. ALWOOD was b Aug. 22, 1833 in Cuyahoga Co., O. He d in Montpellier, Williams Co., O., Mar. 30, 1914, age 80y 7m 18d. He is mourned by 9 children, 39 grandchildren and many relatives and friends. His wife and 2 children precededhim to the grave.
He moved to Fulton Co. when quite a boy and was one of the early pioneers. For the last few years he made his home with his grandson, LEON RAKER of Delta. One of these sturdy pioneers who had helped to build our county and answered thesummons to the final roll call. Four sons and two grandsons tenderly carried him to his last resting place at Fulton Union Cem.
Those of his children who attended his funeral were Mrs. S. A. RAKER of Winameg; J. A. ALWOOD of Columbus, O.: Prof. WILLIAM ALWOOD of Charlottesville, Va.; Mrs. G. W. ROOK of Birmingham; J. L. ALWOOD of Sapulpa, Okal.; H. N. ALWOOD ofPotterville, Mich., and Mrs. J. M. CARPER of Churchville, Va."
