C. Gail Philabaum, 66, of 1443 Adams St., died Saturday afternoon at his home.

He was born Jan. 19, 1908 in Fresno to George W. and Sophia Kutcher Philabaum. On March 30, 1935, he was married to Evelyn Eick, who survives.

Mr. Philabaum was employed by the Norfolk and Western Railroad Co. for 32 years, retiring in January 1973. Surviving besides the widow are two daughters, Mrs. William (Sandra) Medley, 1518 North St.; Mrs. Rodney (Judy) Guilliams, Conesville; one son, Rick Philabaum, of the home; two brothers, Bert Philabaum, Fresno, Clifford Philabaum,Sugarcreek; three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Gertrude) Durant, 1418 Elm St.; Mrs. Harry (Florence) Johnson, 228 N. 14th St.; Mrs. Raymond (Mary) Roof, 420 S. 10th St.; two half-brothers, Roland Luke, Canton; Alex Philabaum, West Lafayette; andeight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Free Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Rezash, pastor of St. Johns United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Coshocton County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7t o 9 p.m. Monday and until time of services on Tuesday.
