Note: Jacob Kutcher was born in Bavaria, Germany on December 17, 1836. He came over from Germany when he was very young. Not sure of the date he married Catherine Shie. Catherine was born in Ohio on December 25, 1842. Her parents camefrom Germany as well. Jacob was a stone mason in the New Bdford area. He also served in the Civil War and was in Campany E, 194th O.V.I. He died on April 26, 1914 in New Bedford, Ohio and in buried in the Zion United Church of ChristCementary in New Bedford, Ohio. He and Catherine are both buried there in fact they are buried very close to their daughter and son-in-law, Charles and Barbara Ellen (Kutcher) Varnes. Catherine died June 25, 1913. Their children are asfollows: William Adam Kutcher b. November 16, 1883 d. February 13, 1947, Jacob Heinrich Kutcher b. 1886, Charles Kutcher, Barbara Ellen Kutcher (married Charles Alter Varnes) b. January 9, 1873 d. November 7, 1957., Fredrick Kutcher, JohnKutcher, Catherine Kutcher, Susy Kutcher, Minnie Kutcher. According to the History Book of Wayne County, the Jacob Kutcher family came from Teschemerschel, Bavaria, Germany to escape religious persecution. Great Great grandmotherKatherine Kutcher's husband was killed for his beliefs.
