OBIT: Tuesday, 4 May 1965 - Coshocton Tribune, pg 6 George W. Phillabaum, 91, Fresno, died at 1:43 a.m. today at County Memorial Hospital following a two-month illness.

A janitor at the Fresno school for 17 years before his retirement, Mrs. Phillabaum formerly was employed by the old Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad and for a time was a substitute mail carrier in the Fresno vicinity.

He was born Aug. 28, 1873, in White Eyes Township, a son of Alex and Magnolia Geese Phillabaum, and was married Oct. 8, 1902 to Sophia Kutcher, who died Sept. 20, 1953. Mr. Phillabaum was a member of the Fresno Methodist Church.

Surviving are four sons, Bert, Fresno, Clifford, Shanesville, Gail, Coshocton, and A. H. Phillabaum, West Lafayette; three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Gertrude) Durant, and Mrs. Florence Johnson, both of Coshocton, and Mary Alice Roof, Route 3,29 grandchildren, and 55 great-grandchildren. Three daughters, four sons, one brother and five sisters are deceased.

Services are set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Gibson and Bontrager Funeral Home and burial will be in the Fresno Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday until time for services.
