BIOGRAPHY: "History of Coshocton Co., Oh" by Hill, p688, "Christopher Geese, WE twp, a native of Cumberland co, Pa, emigrated to this county abt 1837. He married Miss Jennie Kimble 27 Apr 1845. She was anative of Jefferson co., was bornin 1818, came to this county with her parents who were among the first settlers of WE.Mr. and Mrs. Geese were the parents of four chidrn, two of whom are living viz: Columbus and Washington. Columbus was born 22 Mar 1846 in WE andremained at home until he was married in 1868 to Miss Catharine Endlich, she being a native of the county was born in 1847 and is of German ancestry. They have four children, Elmer E, Clarinda C, Laura J, Cordelia M. Washington G3eese wasborn Aug 22 1848 and is married to Elizabeth Cutshall. Christopher Geese bought the farm where his son Colmubus now live in 1857. Before Mr. Geese came to this county he followed navigation. He made eighteen trips across the Atlantic, andwas captain of a crew on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers for some time. He was on the water about 28 yy, and came to this county in 1845. He at one time owned about 800 acres of land in WE. The elder GEese died 26 Sep 1870, aged 65 y andhis wife died 21 Oct 1863. They are both buried at Kimbles. Columbus Geese was electyed clerk of WE and is serving out his term now, he is also a notarypublic."
