'Menno Limberg, 89

Mass of Christian Burial for Menno Limberg, 89, was held Tuesday, January 31 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patricks Catholic Church, Buffalo Center, with Father Michael Schueller as celebrant. Mary Ann Anderson was organist and Jody Smith songleader. Pall bearers wer Philip Delgado, Scott Delgado, Jay Tapper, Eric Bal Troy Limberg, Jim Meinders, and Eldon Haas. Interment was in Olena Mound Cemetery with the Winter Funeral Home of Buffalo Center in charge of arangements.Menno passed away Sunday, January 28, 2006 at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center.

Menno Limberg, son of Abel and Minnie (Cooper) Limberg, was born July 15, 1916 near Buffalo Center, Iowa. He received his education in country school. On August 24, 1942, Menno was united in marriage to Rosemary Semon in Algona.Together they made their home near Buffalo Center and farmed.

Menno was a trustee of Lincoln township for many years; he worked at the A.S.C. office for 20 years in the insurance business; worked as a carpenter, but farming was his life. After Rosemary passed away in 1996, Menno continued to liveon the farm place until he moved into town a few years ago.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: four daughters: Carolyn Jacobson and her husband, Loren, of Clive, Iowa; Marjorie Ball and her husband, Bill of Carl Junction, Missouri; Jean Anderson and her husband, Steve, of North Mankato,Minnesota; Sharon Selberg and her husband, Kyle, of Grimes, Iowa; one son, Bill, and his wife, Naomi, of Blue Springs, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Mamie Langsev and her husband, Sinclair, of Waterloo; andby nieces, nephews and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rosemary; daughter, Mary Klaassen, and by three brothers: Alfred, Amel and Bennie'
