Attendants were Mrs. LuVerne Kamp as matron of honor and Roger Kamp as best man. Both are of Forest City.

The bride is a graduate of the Buffalo Center Community School and the groom graduated from the Austin High School in Austin, Minnesota.

Elizabeth Roth, daughter of Anna and Frank Roth, and Theodore Albers, Jr., son of Theodore and Geska Albers, were married on June 4, 1925. They moved a house from a farm near Buffalo Center to 213 South Main Street where it still standsand remains in Elizabeth's possession.

They became parents of eight children: Edwin of Buffalo Center; Dorothy of Punta Gorda, Florida; Merrill of Buffalo Center; Arlene of Ankeny, Iowa; Gerald of Janesville, Wisconsin; Gladys of Clear Lake, Iowa; Donald of Broomfield,Colorado; and Dennis of Albia, Iowa. "Gladys Jean Albers Bride of Raymond Whipple of Madrid

Wedding vows were exchanged between Miss Gladys Jean Albers of 1817 Grand, Des Moines and Mr. Raymond Whipple of Madrid, Iowa in the First Reformed church in Buffalo Center, Saturday evening, February 6, 1960.

Dr. Henry Van Dyke performed the double ring ceremony before an altar set with candelabra and baskets of white pompons, carnations and blue iris.

Miss Marsha Harms played the nuptial music; before, after and throughout the ceremony and also accompanied Mrs. LeRoy _oss as she sang, "Because," "The Lord's Prayer" and "Walk Hand and in Hand With Me."

Miss Albers is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Albers Jr. of Buffalo Center. The bride accompanied down the white carpeted aisle by her father wore a gown of imported Rochelle Lace with a pointed fitted bodice of delicate laceenchanced with a Queen ___ collar trimmed with iridescent sequins. The long sleeves came to a point over the wrist and her fingertip illusion veil was attached to a crown of seaquins and pearls. The all lace buffant skirt swept into achapel train. She carried a white and lavender orchid on a white Bible.

Miss Rose Mary Whitmore of Des Moines was maid of honor, Miss Roger Field of Forest City was bridesmaid, and Cynthia __eld of Forest City was junior bridesmaid. They all wore ballerena length dresses of ice blue nylon organza. Their dresses had flared skirts and a fitted bodice with a round neckline and were trimmed with a bow in the back. They wore matching hairbraid gowns trimmed with pearls and with attached circular veils. The gifts from the bride were pearl necklaces and they carried white carnation bouquets. The junior bridesmaid's gift was a gold cross with a pearl necklace.

Little Lori Albers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Albers was flower girl and she wore a white floor length gown with a matching crown trimmed with pearls and an attached half circular veil. She carried a white basket with white pompons,blue iris and ___ red petals which she dropped [walki]ng the bridal path. Gregory __dd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger __dd of Forest City was ring bearer. He wore a white dinner jacket with charcoal trousers and carried the rings on a whitesatin pillow.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Winiford Lang of Los Angeles, California. He was attended by Donald Albers of Decorah, Dennis Albers and Norman Roth of Buffalo Center. Edwin and [Me]rle Albers were ushers. The bride's mother wore a blue dress with a pink orchid.

Immediately following the wedding a reception was held in the church parlors with 150 relatives and friends attending. Mr. and Ted H. Albers were dining room host and hostess, with Li_ Albers registering guests. Unwrapping and displaying the gifts were Peggy Albbee of Des Moines, Doris Hipp of Titonka and Lucille Roth of Buffalo Center. Mrs. Albert Sleper and Mrs. ___ Tjaden served the punch and Mrs. Cliff Thompson had charge of the coffee service. Mrs. ___ Loats and Mrs. Jessie Boeck__ cut and served the three tiered wedding cake.

Following their honeymoon to Omaha Nebraska they will reside at Madrid, where he is ___ manager at the Chevrolet garage. For her going away, Mrs. Whipple wore a blue ___ suit and the orchid from the wedding. She is a graduate of the Buffalo Center High"

Memorial services for Gladys J. (Albers) Sheldon, 87, of Clear Lake will be Thursday, April 25 at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel in Clear Lake at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 at the funeral home. With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gladys Jean Sheldon of Clear Lake, Iowa, born in Buffalo Center, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Gladys Jean left this world on April 20, 2024 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Gladys Jean Sheldon to show support.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Jr. Albers and Elizabeth Albers (Roth); her husband Lee; her son Kevin; her son-in-law Joel Sasse; and her siblings, Edwin, Merrill, Arelene Field and Dorothy Kessler.

She is survived by: her daughters, Betty Sheldon of Clear Lake and LaBeth Sasse of Thornton, IA; her grandchildren, Devlynn, A. J. and Keagan Sasse; and her brothers, Gerald "Jerry" Albers, Donald Albers (Marilyn) and Dennis Albers (Joanna). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel (310 1st Ave N, Clear Lake, IA 50428). A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel (310 1st Ave N, Clear Lake, IA 50428).
