Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Albers, Jr. of Buffalo Center announce the marriage of their daughter, Gladys Whipple, to Leon E. Sheldon of Forest City, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Johnson of Austin, Minnesota. The couple was married at Forest City,Wednesday, November 23.

Attendants were Mrs. LuVerne Kamp as matron of honor and Roger Kamp as best man. Both are of Forest City.

The bride is a graduate of the Buffalo Center Community School and the groom graduated from the Austin High School in Austin, Minnesota.

Both are employed at Winnebago Industries at Forest City and are now making their home at Forest City Trailer Court." <>

LEON E. (LEE) SHELDON

Mr. Leon E. (Lee) Sheldon, 56, of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997 at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East Campus, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday), Feb. 26, at 1 p.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, Minn. following services. The family suggests memorials to the Leon E. Sheldon memorial fund.

Lee was born May 1, 1940 in Osage, Iowa the son of Leonard and Beulah (Molstad) Sheldon Sr. Lee attended school in Austin and then entered the United States Army.

On Nov. 23, 1966 Lee married Gladys Albers Whipple in Forest City, Iowa. They lived in Forest City from 1966-1979 and later moved to Clear Lake where they lived since. Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering with motors.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Sheldon, Clear Lake; two daughters, Betty Sheldon and LaBeth Sheldon, both of Clear Lake; a step-son, Kevin Whipple, Iowa City, Iowa; one sister, Sandra Dunn, Austin; and one brother, Leonard Sheldon Jr., Austin; his step father, Harley Johnson, Austin; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Albers, Buffalo Center, Iowa; a step-brother; step-sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one step sister.
