Born January 10, 1893 at Titonka, he was the son of Heito and Margarethe Bruns. He was married March 15, 1922 to Elizabeth Tjaden at Titonka.

Surviving are a son, Mervin Bruns, and a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Frances) Steinberg, both of Titonka; six grandchildren; two brothers, Fred and Heito Bruns, both of Titonka, and three sisters, Mrs. Stephen Tjaden, Mrs. Herman Franzen and Mrs. John Schutter all of Titonka.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, a son, a brother and two sisters."

Services Held Tuesday For Ewald F. Bruns, 79

Funeral services for Ewald F. Bruns, 79, retired Titonka area farmer, were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 29 at the Good Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. Herbert Hanson officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Leonard Leeck,organist, and the church choir. Blake Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Interment was in the church cemetery, with Norman Bruns, Herman Schutter, Harry Schutter, LeRoy Bruns, William Tjaden and Raymond Franzen serving as casket attendants.

Mr. Bruns passed away Saturday, February 26 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

He was born at Titonka on January 10, 1893, the son of Heiko and Margarethe Bruns. On March 15, 1922, he was united in marriage to Elisabeth Tjaden in the bride's home near Titonka. To this union, four children were born, two of whomsurvive.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Frances) Steinberg, and a son, Mervin, both of Titonka; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Steve (Flora) Tjaden, Mrs. Herman (Johanna) Franzen and Mrs. John (Martha) Schutter), all of Titonka; and two brothers, Fred and Heiko Bruns, also of Titonka.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter, one son, two sisters and one brother."
