LAST RITES FOR HENRY H. BRUNS HELD AT IMMANUEL

Funeral services for Henry H. Bruns were held at Immanuel Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon with Rev. H. A. Diers in charge. Interment was in the Immanuel cemetery. Pallbearers were Louis Franzen, Raymond Franzen, Billy Tjaden, HarrySchutter, Merlin Franzen and Erwin Fahrenholtz.

Mr. Henry Bruns, the oldest son of Heiko Sr. and Margaret Bruns was born in German township, Kossuth county, Dec. 20, 1886. His parents brought him to baptism in infancy, in which holy act God adopted him as His child and heir to heaven. In order to remain a child of God, he was reared as a Christian and was instructed in the fundamental Christian truths. On April 17, 1901, he was confirmed by the Pastor A. W. Wellner here at the Immanuel church.

Mr. Bruns remained at home until he was married to Carrie Franzen on the 8th of June, 1916. This union was blessed with one son and one daughter. Since his marriage he lived on their present farm and proved to be a very progressivefarmer.

During his life time the church with its activities was the center of his life. Regularly he availed himself of the divine services and the Lord's supper at the Immanuel Lutheran church. For 13 years he served as first deacon and wasvery much concerned about the church life and the care of its property. The 27th Psalm, fourth verse can well be applied to the departed: 'One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after, that I may dwell in the house of theLord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquiree in his temple.'

Five years ago his health began to fail and the doctor pronounced his ailment to be Parkinsonian Syndrome. His wife and children faithfully and lovingly took care of their husband and father. Last Sunday morning at 3 o'clock the Lordcalled him from this vale of tears to Himself in heaven, at the age of 65 Years, 5 months and 10 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his faithful wife, his son Norman and his daughter Velida. Also three brothers Fred Bruns, EwaldBruns and Heiko Bruns; 4 sisters: Mrs. Etta Fahrenholtz, Mrs. Herman Franzen, Mrs. Martha Schutter and Mrs. Steve Tjaden, and many other relatives and friends. ..." <>
