Fineral services were held Friday, November 27 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church for Carrie Bruns, 93. Pastor Trudy Peterson officiated at the 1:30 p.m. service. Mrs. Bruns passed away at the titonka Care Center on Tuesday, November 24.

Casket bearers were Wayne Bruns, Russell Bruns, Brian Bruns, Scott Btuns, Alton Limberg and Ervin Farenholtz. Interment was in the church cemetery with Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Carrie Franzen was born February 9, 1894 at rural Titonka, Iowa to Henry and Annetta Amelsburg Franzen.

She was confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Titonka by Pastor August Wellner in 1910. She received her education in the rural Kossuth County School system.

On June 8, 1916 Carrie was united in marriage to Henry H. Bruns at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Titonka, by Pastor August Wellner.

Carrie was a homemaker and she and her husband farmed north of Titonka. She was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, a charter member of the Ladies Aide and she also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. Carrie loved tobake and crochet and took great pleasure in entertaining family and friends in her home.

Her husband, Henry died on March 30, 1952 and Carrie moved into Titoinka [sic] in 1955. She became a resident of the Titonka Care Center in 1982 and passed away there Tuesday, at the age of 93.

She is survived by her son, Norman and wife, Marlys of Titonka and her daughter, Velida, also of Titonka. She is also survived by four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren- one brother, Dick Franzen and two sisters, Mrs. LinaSonnenberg and Mrs. Alice Limberg, all of Titonka.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Ben, Herman and Henry ond one sister, Ida Osterman." <>
