DIES AT RIPE OLD AGE. Mrs. Janna Bruns Passed Away Thursday Aged 90 years.

On March 29, 1917 at her home in titonka Mrs. Janna Bruns at the awanced [sic] age of ninety years, passed away, her demise being due to the infirmities of old age culminating in a stroke of paralysis a short time before her death. Althoa resident of Titonka for eleven years Mrs Burns had been confined to her home most of the time thru ill health but received every attention from her kind and devoted daughter Ehe, who, with a grandwon, the orpaaned [sic] child of anotherdaughter, made their home with her. Mrs. Janna Bruns nee Flesher, was born at Siebertek, Ostfriesland, Germany Nov. 16, 1827. She was married to H. F. Bruns in 1850 and they reared a family of 11 children. In 1870 the family emigratedto America and settled near Ackley, Hardin County, Iowa where the father died ion [sic] 1871, In 1887, Mrs. Bruns, with some of her children moved to Kossuth county and in 1906 she and one daughter moved to Titonka. Six children precededher in death and five are yet living as follows: John H. Bruns of Fairmont, Minn; Heiko Bruns of German Valley, Iowa; ehe Bruns of Titonka; Mrs. Johanna Mayland, German Valley and Mrs. Wiemke Oster north of Woden. Sie [sic] also leavesforty great grandchildren and thirty three grandchildren. Funeral services occurred Tuesday April 3, at the church at eleven a.m. and interment took place at the cemetery east of German Valley." <>
