Funeral services were celebrated on Tuesday, December 11 at the First Presbyterian Chruich in Algona, with Reverend Loren Shellabargerand Walter Reemtsma officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.

Mildred Thea Richter was born May 13, 1926, the daughter of Harm and Jessie (Albers) Boeckholt on a farm near Buffalo Center. She attended country school at Lincoln Township #6 for eight years, and then she attedned Buffalo CenterConsolidated School and graduated in 1943.

"Mildred T. Richter, 86, passed away Saturday, December 8, at the Algona Manor Care Center in Algona. Mildred Thea Richter was born May 13, 1926, the daughter of Harm and Jessie (Albers) Boeckholt on a farm near Buffalo Center. She attended country school at Lincoln Township #6 for eight years, and then she attedned Buffalo CenterConsolidated School and graduated in 1943.

On August 29, 1946, Mildred was united in marriage to Robert Richter at the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center. They lived on a farm and worked as hired hands near Titonka for four years before beginning to farm near Wesley in 1951.In 1957, they moved to a farm near Burt, where they lived and farmed for 34 years. In 1991, the couple retired and moved to Algona.

Mildred was a very busy member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. She served as secretary of the United Presbyterian Women for five years, Circle Chairman, and Secretary of P.W.P. Sheworked for Brougham Industries for seven years until they closed and then, worked as a maid at Burr Oak Motel for several more years. She enjoyed helping and being on the farm, being invoolved with the American Legion Ausiliary, workingwith people, gardening and helping out whenever needed.

She is survived by her children: Kenneth (Deborah) Richter of Fairhope, AL; Dennis (Tonjia) Richter of Dadeville, AL; Leslie (Lavonne) Richter of Toledo; and Harlan (Laura) Richter of Algona; eight grandchildren: Shannon, Chad, Heath,Marcel, Clint, Jennifer, Andy and Richard; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Imogene Boeckholt, and her daughter, Diane, of Buffalo Center.

She was preceded in death by her father on March 20, 1943; her mother on April 3, 1963; her husband, Robert, on October 22, 2008; her half sister, Hermina Jetting Sterrinburg; her half brother, Ubee Jetting; and her brother, WilbertBoeckholt, on October 30, 1994.
