Rose Alice Dykstra was born in October 1922 in the former town of Turner in Rock Creek Township, Jasper County, Iowa, the last of nine children and fifth daughter of Charles Dykstra and Elizabeth Moose [has to be: Moes].
In April 1930 Rose Ellen Dykstra (7 years old, born in Iowa) her father Chas Dykstra (56, Holland, farmer), mother Elizabeth (46, Holland), and siblings Cye (18, Iowa, farm laborer), Elizabeth (17, Iowa) and David (13, Iowa), were living at a rentedfarm in Clear Creek Township, Jasper County and about 30 miles northwest of Pella, Iowa.
On November 29, 1939 Rose Ella Dykstra married in the city of Muscatine, Iowa, at the age of 17 years the ten years older Charles Vos, son of John Vos and Jennie Dykstra Vos, a daughter of the sister of her father. Her husband Charles Vos was bornon May 7, 1912 in Iowa and died in October 15, 1972 in California.
Rose Ellen Dykstra died in November 1993 at the age of 71 years, very likely in her last residence place, the city of Monroe, Louisiana.
