In April 1910 Clare Dykstra (1 year old, born in Iowa), her father Charley Dykstra (36, Holland, farmer), mother Elizabeth (27, Holland) and siblings Jennie (6, Iowa), Bert (5, Iowa), Cobe (3, Oklahoma) and Dora (2 months, Iowa), were livingat a rented farm in rural Richland Township, Jasper County, Iowa. In 1915 the family Dykstra was living in Rock Creek Township, postoffice Turner, a former town, Jasper County, Iowa. In January 1920 Clara Dykstra (11), her father Charles Dykstra (46,stock farmer), mother Elibeath (36), and siblings Jennie (16), Bert (15), Cobus (13, Iowa), Dora (10), Cyrus (8, Iowa), Elizabeth (5, Iowa) and David (3, Iowa) were still living inRock Creek Township, Jasper County, Iowa.
On May 14, 1932 Clara Dykstra married at the Methodist Parsonage in Colfax, Jasper County, Iowa the one year younger Ralph A. Leonard, who was born in Iowa too.
In April 1940 Clara (31), her husband Ralph A Leonard (29, Iowa, farmer) and their children Joseph (5, Iowa), Norman (2, Iowa) and Mary Ann (0, Iowa) were living at their own farm, worth $1200, in Clear Creek Township, Jasper County, Iowa. They lived in 1935 in the same house. In 1992 they moved from Farrar, an unincorporated community, located about 5 miles northwest of Mingo, to Newton, the seat of Jasper County, Iowa.
Clara died in October 1993 at the age of 85 years in Jasper County, very probably in its seat Newton. Her widower Ralph Leonard died there too, in April 1997, at the age of 87 years.
