"Funeral Services Held For John Meyering, 65
Funeral services for John Meyering, 65, of Buffalo Center were held Monday afternoon, May 18, at 1:30 p.m. in the First Reformed Church of Buffalo Center. Rev. Henry Vander Schaaf officiated. Interment was in Olena Mound cemetery nearBuffalo Center and Winter Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were John Abels, Joe Abels, Lawrence Skilbred, Fred Meyering, Johnnie Meyering and James Meyering.
John Meyering was born to John Meyering and Everdena Raatjes on October 19, 1904 at Bellingvalde, the Netherlands.
As a young boy he moved with his parents to America and made his home at Kamrar, Iowa near Webster City.
In 1914 the family moved to a farm near Buffalo Center where John worked. In 1947 he entered he carpenter trade.
He was baptized on April 2, 1961, in the First Reformed Church of Buffalo Center where he established his membership.
John had been in failing health for the last number of years after having had major surgery at Iowa City several years ago. During the past year, he had two major surgeries at Park Memorial Hospital in Mason City after which he had mnadehis home with his sister, Mrs. Carl Skilbred.
On Friday, May 15, he passed way from an apparent heart attack. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. John Abels; Sr. and Mrs. Carl Trena) Skilbred of Buffalo Center nd three brothers, Heiko Meyerng of Woden and Jerry and Ben Meyering of Webster City, also cousins, nieces and nephews." <>
