Op 27 mei 1931 is Mozes David de Lange, ook wel Moosje genoemd, geboren in Raalte. Hij was de eerste zoon van Jaap de Lange en Elisabeth de Lange. Bijna twee jaar later werd zijn broertje David geboren. Mozes ging naar de Openbare Lagere Dorpsschool in Raalte en woonde aan de Achterweg, ook wel wijk A 206 genoemd. Op 2 oktober 1942 is hij samen met zijn moeder en broertje naar kamp Westerbork gebracht. Daar was vader Jaap de Lange inmiddels ook naar toe gebracht. Hij was al eerder opgepakt om te werken in het kamp Westenbrink bij Hummelo. Na een week in het kamp is het gezin al weer gedeporteerd. Het transport van 9 oktober 1942 had als eindbestemming Auschwitz. Op 12 oktober 1942 is Mozes daar direct na aankomst vermoord. Hij was toen 11 jaar.
