Notes about Elisabeth Saartje de Lange

Elisabeth de Lange, vaak Zus genoemd, is geboren op 8 december 1907 in Raalte. Ze was de dochter van David de Lange en Cato Coster. Elisabeth had een oudere broer genaamd Jacob en een tweelingbroer die Sjaak heette. De blonde Elisabeth woonde, voordat ze trouwde, aan de Almelosestraat in Raalte. Ze trouwde met Jaap de Lange, eveneens uit Raalte. Het echtpaar woonde aan de Achterweg in Raalte (Wijk A 206). Elisabeth en Jaap kregen twee zonen: Mozes, geboren in 1931 en David, geboren in 1933.

Op 2 oktober 1942 is Elisabeth de Lange samen met haar zonen in een veewagen naar kamp Westerbork gebracht. Een week later op 9 oktober 1942 is zij met haar zonen op transport gesteld naar Auschwitz. Drie dagen later, op 12 oktober 1942, is Elisabeth de Lange daar direct na aankomst op 34-jarige leeftijd vermoord. Datzelfde is met haar zonen Mozes en David gebeurd.
