Dat ook hij te maken kreeg met de anti-joodse maatregelen blijkt uit een lijst van de gemeente Raalte van 24 juni 1942 over het verplicht inleveren van fietsen door joden. David leverde zijn herenrijwiel van het merk Burgers in. Wanneer David de Lange naar kamp Westerbork is gebracht, is niet bekend. Op 18 mei 1943 is hij vanuit kamp Westerbork gedeporteerd. In een brief aan de burgemeester van Raalte van 21 mei 1943 wordt meegedeeld door de secretaris die gaat over het bevolkingsregister van de gemeente Westerbork dat David de Lange naar het buitenland is vertrokken. In een brief van het Rode Kruis in Den Haag van 29 oktober 1946 aan de gemeente Raalte laat het hoofd van het afwikkelingsbureau concentratiekampen weten dat uit de gegevens is gebleken dat David de Lange op 21 mei in 1943 in Sobibor is overleden. Dat betekent dus dat hij direct na aankomst van het transport is vermoord.
