    Jacob werd ook Kontje ( Kuntie ) genoemd. Net als zijn vader en zijn broer is hij veekoopman van beroep. Jacob woont met zijn ouders en zijn broer in Wijk A aan de Brugstraat 169 in Raalte. Uit een document van de gemeente Raalte van 15 februari 1941blijkt dat Jacob 1 gulden voor een aanmeldingsbewijs betaalde. Joden moesten zich namelijk verplicht laten registreren. En net als zijn vader en zijn broer moet hij in het voorjaar van 1942 zijn fiets inleveren.

    Met zijn broer en een aantal andere joden uit Raalte verblijft Jacob de Lange op 18 en ook op 31 december 1942 nog in kamp Westerbork zo blijkt uit een brief vanuit het kamp aan de burgemeester van Raalte. Wanneer Jacob daar precies terecht is gekomen is niet bekend. Op 16 februari 1943 staat zijn naam net als die van zijn broer Sjaak op de transportlijst. Het transport heeft als eindbestemming Auschwitz.
