"Evert Swalve Dec. 15, 1919 - Nov 4, 2003

Buffalo Center - Funeral service for Evert Swalve, 83, was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 7, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Buffalo Center with Lay Pastor Perry Aalgaard and Pastor Paul Haugen officiating. Burial was inGraceland Cemetery [Buffalo Twp.], the Winter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Casket bearers were Eugene Irons, Dave Kopp, Jeff Swalve, Dennis Tweeten, Jim Badje and Lowell Swalve.

A son of Otto and Elsie Sleper Swalve, Evert was born at Ledyard, IA on December 15, 1919. He was baptized in the Ledyard Reformed Church.

Evert was married to Jennie Badje at Fairmont, MN on April 30, 1940. They were members of the Zion Lutheran Church at Rake.

Evert farmed and sold new and used machinery in the Kiester and Bricelyn, MN area for many years. When the couple retired, they moved to Buffalo Center in 1987 and

have lived there since. They then became members of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Evert died Tuesday, November 4 (2003), in the Timely Mission Nursing Home at Buffalo Center.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Jennie, two grandchildren and a great-grandson. Other survivors include a daughter-in-law, Sharon Herfendal and husband, Marlin, Albert Lea; his brothers, Otto and Norma Swalve, Estherville; Ellsworthand Betty Swalve, Owens; Andrew and Rozella Swalve, Estherville; sisters, Annie Schroeder, Esterville; Sena and Forest McGregor, Buffalo Center; Tille Graff, Sandpoint, ID; Elsie and Harold Selberg, Anita and Vern Barlo, Leona Klene, and Ada Williams, all of Estherville.

Evert was preceded in death by two sons, John Larry in infancy and David Otto, 1997; his parents and brothers, John Isenbrand, Richard and Roy Swalve."
