"Ackerman, Ed - Kate DeVries

Ed Ackerman was the son of Peter and Margaret Hassebroek Ackerman and they lived in northwest Iowa but not in the George area. He married Kate, daughter of Jacob G. and Frauke Andresen DeVries. They were long time farmers in the George area. Ed served in World War I.

The couple had three children and they are Mabel Dell, who married Dick Gronewold and after his death, married Ervin Drenth; the oldest was a son, Fredwin (Hans) and he married Harriet Krull; the middle child was Jay and he married AnnaMay Duin. Pictured here on a warm summer day are left to right: Kate, Ed holding Mabel, Jan and Fredwin."
