"Funeral Services Held June 5 for Marvin Ites, 51

Funeral services for Marvin Henry Ites, 51, of Buffalo Center were held Monday afternoon, June 5, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center. Rev. Henry Vander Schaaf was the officiating clergyman and Winter FuneralService was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Teddy Albers, Alvin Gerzema, John Frerichs, Fred Hippen, Art Kramer and Harold Kettwick. Interment was in Olena Mound cemetery.

Marvin Henry Ites was born May 26, 1921 to John Ites and Jennie Heyer at Buffalo Center, Iowa, Marvin lived his entire life in the vicinity of Buffalo Center.

On June 30, 1959 he was united n marriage to Aria Johnson. To his union were born two children, namely, Duane and Karen.

On March 16, 1940 Marvin Ites made public profession of his personal faith in Jesus Christ. He served as deacon of the First Reformed Church, Buffalo Center, from 1962 to 1965. In 1972 Marvin was installed as an elder of the same church.He was a faithful member of his church, having served as Sunday School Superntendent, as a Sunday School teacher, singing in the choir, and 'aithful in his attendance at church services and Sunday School.

Marvin Ites experienced two shocking blows. On August 15, :969 his father, John Ites, unexpectedly passed away of a heart attack. A few months later, December 6, 1969 his mother, Mrs. John Ites, also passed away from a heart attack.

On Friday, June 2 while Marvin was busy with duties on his farm south of Buffalo Center, he was smitten with a fatal heart attack. He had reached the age of 51 years and 7 days.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Aria; his two children, a son, Duane, and a daughter, Karen, both at home. He is survived by a paternal uncle, Ed Ites of Buffalo Center; by two uncles and two aunts on his maternal side, namely, GeorgeHeyer of Buffalo Center and Henry Heyer from Woden, Iowa; Mrs. Kelly Rippentrop, Buffalo Center, Mrs. Hattie Boomgarden, Luverne, Minnesota. He is also survived by cousins, other relatives and friends." <>
