BRIEF HISTORY OF FRED HEYER

Fred Heyer was born in Boen, Ostfriesland, on October 21, 1854, and passed away at his home in Buffalo Center, Iowa, on April 9, 1935. He reached the age of eighty years, five months and nineteen days. In 1880 he was married to Marka[sic] Groen in Bunde Ostfriesland. The home was blessed with nine children, one of whom passed away in infancy. In 1891 the family sailed for America and settled at Kamrar, Iowa. Eighteen years ago they moved to Steen, Minn. where theyresided for four years. From there they moved to Titonka, remaining there nine years. The last twelve years were spent in Buffalo Center.

Mr. Heyer was a member of the Reformed church in good and regular standing. Where the family and church mourns the loss of a member, Heaven rejoices at his home coming and victory through Christ.

Mr. Heyer had never really been sick. This was the first time that he was confined to a bed. About three weeks ago he took sick with a cold which gradually overcame him, so that through it the summons from on high came. Peacefully hedeparted, and we trust that perfect peace and rest are his now.

There remain to mourn his loss, his wife; five daughters: Mrs. Minnie Van Langen, Kamrar, Iowa, Mrs. Anna Tempel, Wilmot, S. D., Mrs. Hattie Boomgarden, Ash Creek, Minn., Mrs. Jennie Ites, Buffalo Center, Mrs. Frieda Rippentrop, ofBuffalo Center; three sons: William of Buffalo Center, Henry of Woden and George of Titonka; also twenty-two grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two sisters, still in Germany and a host of other more distant relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm. Everts at the Reformed church. Friday afternoon at 1:30 which folled grief services in the home at 1 p. m. Interment was made in the locat cemetery. - B. C. Tribune. ..." <>
