"Funeral Services Held August 18 For John Ites

Funeral services for John D. Ites, 72, of Buffalo Center were held Monday afternoon, August 18, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church of Buffalo Center with Rev. Henry Vander Schaaf officiating. Interment was in Olena Mound cemeterywith Winter Funeral Service of Buffalo Center in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Calvin Rippentrop, Alvin Rippentrop, Merle Heyer, Harvey Heyer, Leon Ites and Lester Gray.

Mr. Ites passed away from a heart attack Friday afternoon, August.15, at his home. He had reached the age of 72 years and 1 month.

John Ites was born to Henry Ites and Jennie Harms at Alden), Iowa on July 15, 1897. He was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical Reformed Church, Alden, Iowa. He was married to Jennie Heyer at Titonka, Iowa February 12, 1919.

April 23, 1934 he became a member of the First Reformed Church of Buffalo Center. He served as a deacon of this church for two terms, one beginning in 1944 and the next beginning in 1946. He was a faithful church attendant.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie; one son, Marvin, Buffalo Center, one brother, Ed Ites of Buffalo Center, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister." <>
