Note:
Forest worked at the Kaiser Frazier bomber plant in Ypsilanti, MI before the war, and at the same Kaiser Frazier automotive plant after the war until 1954. Later he bought a farm. He served in the Marines as a cook for 25 months duringWWII, in Guam, Okinawa, and China. In later life he carried a great deal of bitterness over this experience, and insisted he did not want military honors at his funeral.
Forest married his first wife Lillian at his parents' home; they were divorced in May 1985. He married LaVona (Bonnie) Langworthy in October 1985; she died of cancer in 1991. He married Viva in 1993, but divorced her in May 1996.
There are two Forest Leroy Garvers, this man and his uncle.
