Note:

Robert was born on his Aunt Ellen's farm on Adams Road, Arthur Township, Clare County, MI. He served overseas as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. He and Dorothy ("Dort") were married at her parents' home. Robert worked adairy and later in construction before taking a position as a millwright operator at Federal Screw Works, where he got his nephew Gary Mosey a job. Gary worked there ten years, and Robert worked there until his retirement in 1994 . Robertdied of cancer at his home at age 66 and was buried at Dale Cemetery in Tobacco Twp, Beaverton, Gladwin Co, MI.

"Robert V. Garver, age 66, passed away December 9, 1998 at his home in Edenville. Robert was born February 17, 1932 the son of Walter and Hazel I. (Alwood) Garver of Clare. Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean Warfrom 1952 to 1954. He married Dorothea Smith of Houghton Lake on May 29, 1954. During his working life, Robert worked at Lakeside Dairy and in construction until taking a position as a millwright operator for Federal Screw Works inRomulus. He retired from Federal Screw Works in 1994 to enjoy fishing and other favorite pastimes. Surviving Robert are his wife, Dorothea of Edenville; three daughters, Dinese and husband Donnie Frantagelo of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania;Arlene Garver and special friend Cathy Ehgote of Hartland; and Robin and husband Daniel Clemons of Linden; one son, Guy Steve and wife Velvet Garver of Fowlerville; eight grandchildren; six brothers... five sisters... and many nieces,nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wayne Garver of Mt. Pleasant; and one sister, Doris Dalton of Clare. Private memorial services were held Saturday, December 12, 1998 at the Tobacco Township(Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton with Nial Abbot officiating. Arrangements were made by the Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin. "Robert was a quiet, gentle man and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends."
