Obituary from the Saturday April 15, 1989 The Fort Dodge Messenger Newspaper:

"MARIAN [sic] N. PETERSON

BADGER - Marian [sic] N. Peterson, 64, Route 2, Humboldt, died Friday afternoon at Trinity Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Swartzendruber, pastor of the Mennonite Church officiating. Burial will be in the Carpenter Cemetery. Military Graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 1856. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Sunday.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; sons, Thomas J., Byers, Colo., Alvin L., Fort Dodge; daughters, Patricia Ann Calmer, Peoria, Ariz., Joyce L. Peterson, and Velma J. Peterson, both of Humboldt, Beth M. Johnson, Des Moines; six grandchildren; sisters, Frieda Righi, Peoria, Ill., Vernabelle Johnson, Burnside, Betty Hill, Fort Dodge; brother, Franklin Peterson, Duncombe.

Marian [sic] N. Peterson was born in Lehigh where he attended school. As a young man he moved to Fort Dodge with his parents and attended Fort Dodge Senior High. He became employed at Kalo Brick and Tile, and later for the Chicago Great Northwesten Railroad. He married Rose Beck in 1943 in fort Dodge where they established their home. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Following his discharge he became employed for U.S. Gypsum where he worked until his retirement in 1979 due to ill health."
