Alvin (Pete) Peterson, 58, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at the V.A. Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 24th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home; with the Rev. Dale Harlow, Northfield Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with Full Military Graveside Rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Survivors include, brother, Thomas Peterson and his wife Marcella of Aurora, CO; sisters, Patricia Calmer and her husband Calvin of Fort Dodge; Joyce, Velma, and Beth Peterson all of Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marion and Frances (Beck) Peterson.

Alvin L. Peterson was born on January 17, 1952, in Fort Dodge. He attended the Fort Dodge Public Schools. Shortly after his education he enlisted with the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. In 1972, he received his honorable discharge and moved back to Fort Dodge. In 1985, he was united in marriage to Sandy Summers and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. The couple were later divorced. Pete was employed at U.S. Gypsum before working in the construction field.
