"A. VERNABELLE JOHNSON

A. Vernabelle Johnson, 61, Burnside, died Friday morning at Trinity Regional Hospital of cancer.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the World of Life Chapel with the Rev. Beryl Vinchattle, pastor, and the Rev. Floyd Willey, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be a North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 4 p.m Sunday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.

Survivors include her husband Norman; daughters, Carol Ruiz, South Bend, Ind., Ellen Kim, St. Peter, Mo., Paula Wolkenhauer, Havelock; sons, Norman Jr., Rockwell City, Daniel, Fort Dodge, Timothy, at home: six grandchildren; sisters Frieda Righi, Peoria, Ill., Betty Hill, Fort Dodge; brother, Franklin Peterson, Duncombe.

A. Vernabelle Peterson was born at Lehigh and as a child moved with her family to the Fort Dodge area. She attended rural schools and Fort Dodge High School. She then moved to Peoria where she lived for three years before returning to Fort Dodge. She worked at Tobin Packing Co.

She married Norman H. Johnson in 1950 in Omaha, Neb., and they lived in Fort Dodge. She was a member of the Ladies Fellowship of her church."
