Text of the obituary, providence is, fortasse, 6 Jan 1977 Ft. Dodge Messenger:

"JAMES N. PETERSON

James N. Peterson, 78, 3116 9th Ave. S., died late Wednesday morning at Trinity Regional Hospital following a short illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Mitschelen, pastor of the Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.

Surviving are the widow, Engelena; sons, Marion, Humboldt; Franklin, Fort Dodge; daughters, Mrs. Gene Righi, Peoria, Ill.; Mrs. Robert Lumsden, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Norman Johnson, Burnside; Mrs. William Hill, Fort Dodge; 30 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

James N. Peterson was born in Fulton County, Ill., and attended the schools in that area. He married Engelena Naber in 1921 at Fort Dodge and they established their home in Lehigh, where Mr. Peterson was employed by the Chicago & North Western Railroad for 13 years. They later moved to Fort Dodge where he continued to be employed by the railroad until his retirement in 1955.

He was a member of the Church of God."
