"Leonard Gray, 93

Funeral services for Leonard Gray will be held Friday, December 10, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Titonka with Reverend Robin Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Township Cemetery, Titonka. Visitationwill be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Oakcrest Funeral Services of Titonka, and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.

Leonard Gray, son of Henry and Grace (Huisman) Gray, was born June 23, 1917 in rural Titonka. Leonard attended rural school near Titonka and then started farming north of Titonka. On March 30, 1948, Leonard married Iva Eldon Anderson inLakota. In April, they moved to a farm south of Titonka and farmed until retiring in 1987. They enjoyed rural life and remained living on the farm. Leonard enjoyed helping his sons with farm work, especially baling hay. He lovednature, traveling, and sightseeing, and he has passed that love on to his family and grandchildren. In later years, he enjoyed watching nature and travel shows on public television and looking at photos of family and past vacations. Hisgreatest joy was talking and teasing with his grandchildren. Leonard was a member of the United Methodist Church of Titonka.

Leonard died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Kossuth Regional Hospital in Algona at the age of 93.

He is survived by two sons, Wendell Gray of Titonka and Arlyn Gray and his wife, Angela, of Titonka; six grandchildren, Anthony Gray of Titonka, Jason Gray and his wife Lisa of Manhattan, KS. James Gray of West Des Moines, and Bronica,Aaron, and Mark Gray, all of Titonka; and seven great-grandchildren, Carlyna, Caitlyn, Chelsea, Isaiah, Jaden, Logan, and Tryston. He is also survived by one sister, Viola Gray of Titonka; and many nieces and nephews.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Iva on August 14, 2002; two sisters, Dorothy Gray and Irene Ubben; four brothers, Henry Jr., Fred, Elmer, and Mervin; and two brothers in infancy.
